What are red flags in a relationship?

Control, disrespect, dishonesty and pressure are warning signs worth taking seriously.
Red flags are warning signs that a relationship may be unhealthy or harmful. Common ones are control, constant criticism, lying, jealousy that leads to monitoring, and pressure to change who you are.
One slip is not always a dealbreaker, but patterns are.
Common red flags
Isolating you from friends or family, checking your phone, blaming you for everything, ignoring your boundaries, intense moods or threats.
What to do
Name the behaviour, set a clear limit and watch whether it changes. Talk to someone you trust.
If you feel unsafe
Contact a local domestic violence or abuse helpline or someone you trust, and make a safety plan. Your safety comes first.
