How do I get rid of mould on walls or in the bathroom?
Clean it with the right solution, dry the area and fix the moisture problem behind it.
Mould grows where there is moisture and poor ventilation. To get rid of it, clean the surface and tackle the source of the damp.
Wear gloves, eye protection and a mask, and open windows while working.
Cleaning
For small patches, scrub with a mild detergent solution or white vinegar, then dry the area thoroughly. Never mix bleach with other cleaners.
Fix the cause
Repair leaks, improve ventilation with extractor fans or open windows, and wipe down condensation.
When it is serious
Large areas, repeated regrowth or mould caused by structural damp need professional help. People with asthma or other breathing problems should avoid cleaning it themselves.
