How do I get rid of aphids on my plants?

Wash them off, encourage predators and use soapy spray if needed.
Aphids are small sap-sucking insects that cluster on new growth. They are usually easy to control without harsh chemicals.
Check the undersides of leaves and the tips of stems.
Simple removal
Blast them off with a strong jet of water or wipe them away by hand. Repeat every few days.
Spray
Use a mild soap solution (a few drops of liquid soap in water) and spray affected areas, testing on one leaf first.
Natural help
Ladybirds and lacewings eat aphids, so avoid broad-spectrum insecticides. Ants farming aphids can be a sign of an infestation to watch.
