How do I create a strong password?
Use long, unique passwords or passphrases and store them in a password manager.
A strong password is long, unique and hard to guess. Length matters more than complexity: a passphrase of several random words is both strong and easier to remember.
Never reuse the same password on different accounts.
What to do
Aim for at least 12 to 16 characters. Use a random mix of words or a password manager's generator. Avoid names, birthdays and common patterns.
Use a password manager
A reputable password manager creates and stores unique passwords so you only need to remember one strong master password.
Add protection
Turn on two-factor authentication where available and change any password that appears in a data breach.
