How do I boil eggs?

Start in boiling water, time it, then cool in cold water for easy peeling.
The time you cook an egg decides how it turns out. Bring water to a boil, lower in the eggs and time them carefully.
Use eggs that are a few days old if you want them easier to peel.
Timing for large eggs
Cook for about 6 to 7 minutes for a soft, jammy yolk, and about 10 to 12 minutes for a fully hard-boiled egg.
Cool quickly
Transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water for a few minutes. This stops the cooking and helps the shell come off.
Peeling
Crack the shell all over, roll it gently and peel under running water. Store peeled or unpeeled hard-boiled eggs in the fridge and eat within a week.
