How can I tell if text or an image was made by AI?
No tool is fully reliable, so check sources, look for inconsistencies and verify before sharing.
There is no foolproof way to tell. AI detection tools can be wrong, sometimes flagging human writing as AI. The best approach is to check where the content came from and look for clues.
Treat surprising or emotional content with extra caution.
For images
Look for odd hands, distorted text, strange backgrounds or inconsistent lighting. Use a reverse image search to find the original source.
For text
Generic phrasing, repetition and confident but vague statements can be clues, but none is proof.
Verify
Check whether trusted outlets report the same thing, look for the original source and watch for labels or content credentials. Do not share until you have checked.
