How do I write a cover letter?
Keep it to one page, tailor it to the job and show how you can solve the employer's needs.
A cover letter introduces you and shows why you suit the role. It should be short, specific and tailored to each job.
Aim for one page or about 250 to 400 words.
Structure
Open with the role you are applying for and a strong reason you are interested. In the middle, give two or three examples of achievements that match the job requirements. Close by thanking them and stating that you would like to discuss your application.
Tips
Address a named person when you can, use keywords from the job advert and avoid repeating your resume.
Proofread
Check for spelling and grammar errors, and ask someone else to read it.
