How do I answer 'tell me about yourself' in an interview?
Give a short summary of your background, strengths and why you want this role.
This question is an invitation to introduce yourself professionally, not to tell your life story. Aim for about one to two minutes.
A simple structure is present, past, future.
Present
Say what you do now and a key strength or achievement.
Past
Briefly mention relevant experience or training that led you here.
Future
Explain why you are interested in this role and what you want to contribute.
Example
"I'm a marketing coordinator who manages social campaigns for a small retailer. Before that I studied communications. I'd love to bring those skills to your team, where I can work on larger campaigns." Tailor it to the job.
