Lesson 1
Decoding the Hidden Employer Needs
Read between the lines of job descriptions to find the specific skills you need to highlight.
Analyse the language
Most candidates skim the job advert. You must mine it. Highlight every verb or project mentioned. If a firm mentions 'project management' and 'client growth', those are your core themes. Do not guess what they want; look for the patterns in their requirements section.
Creating your hook
Start by acknowledging the company's current goal. If they are expanding into a new market, state: 'I see your move into the Asian market requires robust logistical coordination.' This shows you are not just looking for a job; you are interested in their trajectory. Connect your previous experience to their immediate challenge. By showing you have already solved similar problems, you prove you are a low-risk, high-reward hire. Stop using generic openings like 'I am writing to apply'; start by demonstrating your insight.
