Lesson 1
The Data Privacy Redlines
Establish strict rules for what information you keep off AI platforms.
Defining Sensitive Information
Treat every prompt you send into a public chatbot as if you are posting it on a billboard. You must never enter bank account numbers, passwords, residential addresses, or health records. These details can be used to train future iterations of the model.
Corporate and Client Confidentiality
Never paste internal company documents, sensitive source code, or unpublished client strategy documents. If your employer has a specific AI policy, follow it strictly. Using personal accounts for work tasks is a common way data leaks occur.
The Filter Method
Before hitting send, run your prompt through a 3-second mental filter: 'Would I be comfortable if this text appeared in a public search result?' If the answer is no, anonymise the content. Replace real names, locations, and sensitive data with generic placeholders like 'Company X' or 'Project A' before you input them.
