Lesson 1

The Drainage Hose Inspection

Check your outlet hose for kinks, clogs, or incorrect installation.

Inspecting the Path

Unplug your machine and pull it away from the wall. Inspect the grey corrugated hose. Look for sharp bends or kinks that restrict water flow. If the hose is pushed too far into the standpipe, it can create a siphon effect, causing the machine to struggle or drain continuously.

Testing for Blockages

Disconnect the hose from your sink trap or wall drain. Place the end into a bucket and run a drain cycle. If water flows freely into the bucket, your house plumbing is the problem, not the machine. If the water dribbles or stays inside the drum, the blockage is within the machine. Check the connection point for lint or paper debris that may have migrated during the cycle. Always ensure the drainage point is between 60cm and 100cm high from the floor.
