Lesson 1

The Rule of Three

Stop creating endless to-do lists and focus on only what truly matters.

Choose your focus. Every evening, write down the three most important tasks for the next day. No more. If you finish them, you have had a productive day. If you don't finish them, they carry over. This forces you to think about what actually drives results versus what just keeps you busy. Mark these tasks as 'Must Complete'. Everything else is a bonus. Use a simple notebook or a sticky note. Avoid digital apps that allow for endless scrolling of tasks. The act of writing them down focuses your intent. If you find yourself adding more than three, remove the low-value items. You are choosing your battles. This is the first step in regaining control. Do not worry about emails or Slack messages yet. These are reactive tasks, not proactive ones. You will deal with those in dedicated slots later in the day. Start your morning with your most important task first.
