Lesson 1

Radical Accountability

Take full responsibility without deflection to create the safety needed for open communication.

No excuses

Trust cannot be rebuilt on a foundation of 'but' or 'I only did it because.' If you are the person who betrayed the trust, you must own your choice fully. Your partner needs to feel that you understand the gravity of your actions before they can even begin to heal.

The transparency rule

Radical honesty is the only way forward. If your partner asks a painful question, answer it. If you have to lie to cover up a detail, you have reset the clock to zero. Create a 'no-secrets' policy: provide passwords, show your location, and be transparent about your schedule for a defined period. This is not about permanent surveillance; it is about rebuilding the baseline of truth. It will feel uncomfortable, but you must accept this loss of privacy as a necessary consequence of breaking the prior agreement.
