Lesson 1

Evaluate Your Resources

Assess whether FBA, KDP, or Home Services matches your current budget and time constraints.

Assess Your Constraints Before selecting a path, define your inputs. FBA requires capital for inventory, typically £500 to £2,000 for a pilot run. KDP requires creative effort and time, while Home Services requires local presence and specific trade qualifications. ## The Decision Matrix Create a spreadsheet with three columns: 'Investment', 'Risk', and 'Labour'. Assign a value from 1 to 5 for each. If you have low capital but high design skills, KDP scores best. If you have moderate capital and want a scalable product model, FBA is superior. If you have tools and local transport, Services offer immediate cash flow. ## Avoid Common Mistakes Beginners often try all three at once. This leads to burnout and fractured focus. Select one model for the first 90 days. Track your 'per hour' return for each to see if your choice aligns with your goals.
