Lesson 1

Auditing Your Storage

Use built-in settings to identify which apps and files use the most space.

Check your stats

Go to your phone's 'Settings' and find the 'Storage' menu. This will display a breakdown of exactly what is consuming your space. Most people find that photos, videos, and social media apps are the primary offenders. Do not just look at the total number; look at the specific app list. If you see apps you haven't opened in three months, delete them. Even if they are small, they often contain saved local data that accumulates over time. If a social media app is taking up 2GB of space, it is likely mostly cache. Clearing the cache inside the app settings is a safe way to reclaim space without deleting your account or login details. Make this audit a monthly habit to keep your phone running smoothly and prevent storage warnings.
