Lesson 1

Optimising Your Headline and Photo

Craft a headline that goes beyond a job title to explain your professional impact.

Your Visual Hook

A professional headshot is mandatory. Use a neutral background, good lighting, and ensure you are dressed as you would for a client meeting. Avoid cropped selfies or holiday photos. Your photo must be friendly and approachable.

The Strategic Headline

Your headline is searchable. Do not just write 'Project Manager'. Write 'Project Manager | Digital Transformation Specialist | Improving Operational Efficiency by 20%'. This explains your role, your niche, and your value proposition. Use keywords that recruiters in your target industry search for. Look at the profiles of three people in the role you want and identify the common terms they use. Keep it under 15 words so it displays fully on mobile devices, ensuring your message is clear even at a glance for busy hiring managers.
