Automating Your Cloud Sync
Enable built-in tools to ensure your phone and computer data is continuously saved to the cloud.
Mobile Workflow
Open your phone’s settings and verify that iCloud or Google Photos is set to sync on Wi-Fi. Ensure you are backing up full-resolution originals rather than compressed versions. Check the storage capacity to prevent sync stalls.
Computer Sync
Use built-in services like OneDrive, Dropbox, or iCloud Drive for your documents folder. Create a clear directory structure; keep work, personal, and photo folders separate. This makes auditing your files much easier.
Monitoring
Syncing is not a 'set and forget' task. Check the status icon weekly. If the sync icon shows a warning, address it immediately. Ensure your cloud account has two-factor authentication enabled to protect your files from unauthorised access. Treat this cloud copy as your first line of defence against physical loss or theft of your hardware, keeping data accessible from any device.
